The Case Guitars team is small enough to provide the personal touch and after care so crucial when commissioning a guitar of your dreams. You can talk to the luthiers during the build process.
Our aim has always been to create unique guitars that possess a timeless beauty and produce the classic vintage tones from the 50s and 60s.
The asymmetry of our designs is not just for good looks, it gives a Case Guitar excellent balance and superior access to the top frets. Positioning of the machine heads allows for a straighter string pull aiding tuning stability, while the 'wave' theme running throughout creates a sense of harmony to the overall design.
My passion for guitars began when I saw the Beatles on TV; the sound and the looks of the guitars really captured my imagination.
I am self taught but learned a great deal at my secondary school where my favourite subjects were woodwork, art and technical drawing. I started to make the guitars I wanted but could not afford to buy. After leaving school I attended Canterbury Art College, and then pursued a successful career in graphic design. The excitement of building and playing my own guitars never left me and so in 2000 I put the skills gained as a designer into creating a guitar and built several prototypes to show to professional musicians. Their positive response gave me the confidence to develop the guitar further into a range, get reviews and later, exhibit at the London Guitar Shows.
Jon Case - Luthier & Founder
The journey to luthier was a natural path for me - Playing and building my own bass guitars and a degree in modelmaking at Arts University Bournemouth has all helped me gain the exacting skills required. It’s very satisfying to be able use my design background and craftsmanship to create beautiful and unique instruments.
