J1’54 Goldtop Vintage Series

The carved maple top on a 1.75" deep chambered honduran mahogany body gives this guitar plenty of natural sustain and resonance. The neck is beautifully shaped from one piece of quarter sawn honduran mahogany, creating a comfortable and stable neck with a great feel. Rosewood fingerboard adds a warmth to the tone and is carefully selected for its rich, dark colour. The effect of sweat turning areas of the metallic gold top to green, is authentically reproduced before applying the multiple coats of cellulose lacquer. Only after polishing to high gloss, does the ageing process begin, crazing the lacquer and adding dings and wear just to the right places. The J1'54 Goldtop looks and feels every bit as good as it sounds. 

All hardware is high quality and made in the US and includes a lightweight Mojoaxe compensated wraparound bridge for perfect intonation. The Kluson deluxe tuners allow for fine tuning and smooth operation. The guitar is fitted with high quality CTS pots and a Switchcraft toggle switch. A 50’s wiring scheme is used in all our guitars as we have found that it minimises treble loss when rolling back the volume.

Bare Knuckle Nantucket P90s are scatter-wound by hand with 42AWG plain enamel wire and using sand cast, vintage cut Alnico V magnets. A touch sensitive dynamic and the ability to clean up well as the volume is backed off, the Nantucket P90 really does lend itself to a huge range of playing styles.
