With a 14.25" width, the J25 is slightly smaller than our 15" wide J35 model and is extremely well balanced on the strap. The guitar employs a traditional semi-hollow construction of a laminated birch body with a light weight obeche centre block. The semi-hollow body creates a resonant, responsive tone, while the centre block maximises sustain and keeps feedback to a minimum. The neck is carved from one piece of quarter sawn mahogany, creating a very stable neck with a great feel. The beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard adds a warm to the tone.
Fitted with Bare Knuckle Nantucket P90s the low notes are solid and tight while the upper mids really grind, but they never sound harsh; just fat and chunky. High notes can really sing and with a slightly breaking-up tube amp, wonderful harmonic feedback is possible. A touch sensitive dynamic and the ability to clean up well as the volume is backed off, the Nantucket 90 really does lend itself to a huge range of playing styles.
All hardware is high quality and includes a lightweight, ABM compensated bridge and Gotoh vintage tuners guaranteeing fine tuning and smooth operation. High quality CTS pots, Switchcraft pickup selector switch and a 50’s wiring scheme is used to minimise treble loss when rolling back the volume.
