JAMES COLE - THE CLASSIC ROCK SHOW

J35 SEMI-HOLLOW

Slightly smaller than a Gibson 335, the Case J35 has a 15" wide body width and is extremely well balanced on the strap. The guitar employs a traditional semi-hollow laminated construction with a obeche centre block and carved spruce fillets between the two. The semi-hollow body creates a resonant, responsive tone, while the centre block maximises sustain and keeps feedback to a minimum. The top is made from plain maple or specify bookmatched flame maple. The neck is made from quarter sawn mahogany making it very stable. There is a choice of fingerboard, either rosewood for its warm tone, or ebony for its slightly brighter response and durability.

All hardware is high quality and includes a vintage-style Kluson Tuneomatic with lightweight stopbar. Gotoh vintage tuners guarantee fine tuning and smooth operation. High quality CTS pots and Switchcraft components are used together with a 50’s wiring scheme to minimise treble loss when rolling back the volume.

Hand wound Bare Knuckle unpotted humbuckers are fitted as standard with 'Mule' humbuckers chosen for their outstanding clarity and extended dynamic range. Even at low levels of gain, smooth harmonic feedback, full of overtones is possible, while clean sounds have depth and unmistakable vintage character.
