It starts with an idea …

Charles had this idea many years ago, to build his own guitar. He didn’t get to complete the project and so he approached us.

We were given an open brief - to turn the roughly cut body Charles had started into something special. We were honoured to do this having completed two other commissions for him: a J3 and J35

Charles had sketched his idea in chalk onto the roughly cut body - a beautiful piece of Brazilian mahogany. It was too heavy in its presented form so it was agreed that the overall size would be reduced and the body chambered.
